Lasalle’s Mathematics Department is composed of a prominent team of math teachers within the Rainbow District School Board. It leads the way in many areas, from being the first to adopt Smart Board technology for every math class, to leading the pack in developing connections and opportunities for enriched students. Lasalle is the only school in Sudbury to offer the Algoma Mathematics Competition (and a Lasalle student achieved the provinces TOP SCORE!) Most teachers offer their own website support to their classes, and parents of students can also access the sites to get support for their children on the homework front.

Almost every math course that exists in Ontario high schools is offered at Lasalle. Students have the opportunity to take whatever courses are required to reach their post-secondary goals. In addition, our teachers are committed to helping students achieve their best on the mandatory EQAO Assessment of Grade 9 Mathematics. For students who struggle, or for those who want to polish their skills, daily help is available in the Math Lab, a drop-in center staffed by math teachers all through lunch.
